Best hardwood flooring in Miami

Many People wonder if hardwood is the right choice for kitchen flooring. The kitchen may be a place high on the list that is subject to water damage, it can scare people off from what really is an great look. Surprisingly though hardwood floors when installed and cared for properly, work well in kitchens and can be a great option for any design style. Solid and engineered hardwood floors are both suitable for the kitchen.

While properly finished solid hardwood floors could do better in the kitchen, engineered hardwood floors are dimensionally stable thus best for humid areas such as the kitchen and bathrooms. Engineered hardwood floors are resistant to change in temperature and humidity. Hardwood species such as oak, maple and cherry are strong and can take a beating. They are the best for high traffic areas such as kitchen. Avoid softwoods such as pine which has a higher tendency of denting and scratching.

Here are my top 5 reasons why hardwood floors are an exceptional option for your kitchen

1 Lots of options: You have multiple hardwood species, colors, finishes and pattern options for the kitchen, they are all naturally beautiful.

2️Consistency: Using Hardwood floors in a kitchen creates an elegant look and consistency in a home with an open floor plan, if you are the type of person who does not like to have many types of flooring in your home, then hardwood floors will provide that seamless transition from room to room.

3️Longevity and Value: Kitchen wood floors offer outstanding value over the 50-100 years they last. Choose a hardwood that ranks high on the hardness chart or even going the route of engineered hardwood might be a good idea. We actually prefer engineered Hardwood over solid due to its durability. If your hardwood becomes worn over time, keep in mind you can always sand and refinish to make them new again. With any other material, it would mean replacing the entire flooring.

4️Warmer than tile: Hardwood floors in kitchen settings are warmer and easier on feet compared with stone and ceramic tile, especially when you’re standing during prep and cleanup.

5️Super easy to clean: Another great thing I love about hardwood floors in the kitchen is that they are easy to clean. With a kitchen being a high traffic, busy area this is very important. Having hardwood allows for quick and easy clean up. With a little cleaning product, we recommend using bona, wood floors can look squeaky clean in just a few short minutes.

CONS:

I really don’t have many cons for using hardwood in a kitchen, but I will mention a couple of things for you to consider.

If you are on a budget, Hardwood flooring may not be a good option price range from $5 to $15 per sqft. Hardwood flooring may require a little more maintenance. I would recommend trying to be careful and protect from grease and large water spills. Be smart and clean up any water or spills quickly without allowing to stand on the hardwood for a long period of time. And as I mentioned above, engineered wood floors are extremely durable and its always my recommendation to kitchens and bathrooms.
